Club Business

WEDNESDAY, September 10

We’ll be meeting at the Exeter Community Library, 4565 Prestwick Drive, in  Exeter at 7:30 p.m. for our MEET AND GREET session.  Our new Yearbook will be available at this meeting (major kudos to Carol Laibe - again!).  An overview of planned activities should perk your interest and desire to make a difference while enjoying both old and new friendships.   We’ll have the Club’s website  on-line for questions or coments re this valuable communication tool.  Links to other community sites are being planned to make your cyber experience come alive.  Make it a point to contact Carol Layton with any updates or club news to keep this website a lively reference point and not a mere archive!  We are especially interested in any photos that we can post to make the site more alive.  Remember, this is often the first impression for future members.

Hostesses for this meeting include:  Nancy Fies, Carol Heller, Kathleen Holm, Eileen Teater, Barbara Taglang, Kim Wiley.  If you cannot help in the month assigned to you with a food/cash donation, please contact the chair - Elizabeth Seward and arrange to trade with someone.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS:  Kristyn Heller and Madi Layton

DON’T FORGET - annual dues of $25 are now being accepted by our Treasurer, Lois Ensslen.  (Make checks payable to “Woman’s Club of Exeter Township.”)

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 - MEMBERSHIP TEA

Janice Miller, Membership Chair, has volunteered to host our Membership Tea this year from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the 21st.  All are invited, especially those who will be bringing a potential member.  The committee encourages sign up at the September meeting or by contacting Janice directly so that formal invitations may be sent to those interested.  The history of the Club wil be reviewed as well as new ideas for service in this growing community.  We’ll be looking forward to sharing some relaxing elegance and good friendship… plus some tea and goodies, of course!

WEDNESDAY, October 8 - COVERED DISH MEETING

The Covered dish meeting will be held at the Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Avenue from 6 p.m. with buffet dinner served at 6:30 p.m.  Share your culinary talents (simple or festive) by signing up this month for our October covered dish social.  All calories are welcome!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18 - SOUP & BAKE SALE

This event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Boscov’s East.  The sign up sheet will be available at the September meeting.  All food contributions should be delivered on the day of the sale directly to Boscov’s East.

WAYS & MEANS:  Summertime Scoop

The Patio Party held at the home of Jim and Janice Miller on June 28th netted a profit of $623.73.  Despite the hot weather, the turnout was great.  Many thanks to each and every member who volunteered to make this such a fine event and, of course, to Jim and Janice for their hospitality once again.  The raffle baskets were a hit - appreciation to Carol Heft and all the donors!

A note of thanks to all those who provided flowers and all-important watering at the Trolley Stop in Reiffton.  This labor of love along with our trees has provided a bit of beauty to many daily commuters and residents.
